CHOSEN SERIES

During the Month of March, CCBC is launching “The Chosen” series. As we move toward Resurrection Sunday March 31st. This series is designed to help us focus on the life, death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as we move toward Resurrection Sunday March 31st,

The Chosen series will consist of several components.

1. Join us every Sunday in March as Pastor Chambers begins a new sermon series entitled “The Chosen.” 
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. -1 Peter 2:9

2. Watch “The Chosen” Television Series
We are inviting CCBC members and friends to watch “The Chosen” series.

  • What is The Chosen About? 
    The Chosen is a groundbreaking historical drama based on the life of Jesus Christ (Jonathan Roumie), seen through the eyes of those who knew him. Set against the backdrop of Roman oppression in first-century Israel, the seven-season show shares an authentic and intimate look at Jesus’ revolutionary life and teachings.
  • Is The Chosen biblically accurate?
    The Chosen is based on the true stories of the Gospels of Jesus Christ. Some locations and timelines have been combined or condensed. Backstories and some characters or dialog have been added.

    However, all the Bible and historical context and any artistic imagination are designed to support the truth and intention of the Scriptures. Viewers are encouraged to read the scripture and the Gospels.
  • Where can I watch The Chosen?
    There are many ways to watch.
  • First, you can view all episodes for free in The Chosen app is available on Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, iOS, and Android. Just search “The Chosen” wherever you download apps or channels for your streaming player or device.
  • Second, check your favorite streaming service. There is a good chance we are on there. One or more seasons are currently available on Amazon Prime, Netflix, Peacock, Freevee, Apple TV, and more.


3. The Chosen Chat & Chew

Beginning March 10th and every following Sunday in March, join CCBC members and friends in classroom #1 for The Chosen Chat & Chew as we gather to chat about the morning sermon, the tv series and related topics.


4. Palm Sunday Service

Come join us for Palm Sunday on March 24th which marks the beginning of “Holy Week” and before Easter, commemorating the triumphal entry into Jerusalem by Jesus Christ. It is also the blessing and procession of the palms and typically provided to members of the congregation as a sacred object to be treated with respect and reverence.

So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, crying out, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who come in the name of the Lord, even the Kind of Israel!” – John 12:13


5. Good Friday Fish Fry and Movie Night

Join us as we commemorate the Lord’s sacrifice on Good Friday, March 29th, by viewing the movie, “The Passion of the Christ.” This movie depicts the final 12-hours in the life of Jesus Christ and his crucifixion in Jerusalem based on the New Testament. You can also come early to enjoy a fish fry meal before the viewing of the movie.

  • Fish Fry is 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm
  • The Passion of the Christ is 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm

This is a good time to invite those from your FRANCES list which are your friends, relatives, acquaintances, neighbors, colleges, enemies, and strangers/strays to share in a meal and watch along with us.


6. Resurrection Sunday

Be sure to join us on Resurrection Sunday. March 31st, for a joy-filled celebration of the risen Savior and all we have because He Lives! This is another great opportunity to reach out to friends, family, neighbors, and more. Ask yourself, “Who should be sitting in the seat next to me?” We want to share this day with everyone! Bring someone with you as we rejoice in the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
